Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you buy from Cozy Bee Studio ("we", "us"), a trading name of Nsource Limited, a small studio in London, England, at cozybeestudio.com. By placing an order you agree to them. They don't affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

What we make

• Printed books — personalised storybooks, printed to order and posted to you.
• PDF books — the same stories as a print-ready PDF, emailed to you. Nothing is posted.
• Custom story books — a book written and illustrated from a story you tell us (how you met, a wedding, a friendship…).
• The Hive — our book club: a subscription for a new personalised book each month, as Busy Bee (monthly) or Honey Pot (yearly) (see below).

Your details and photos

• You give us the names, age, language, dedication and photo(s) when you personalise a book, before you pay. If you choose to send the photo later, we'll email you after your order.
• Please check spelling carefully — we print what you give us.
• Only send photos and stories you have the right to share: of your own family, or with the permission of the people in them (or their parent or guardian, for a child).
• We may send you a proof for anything we're unsure about before we print. Tell us about any change as soon as you can — once a book has gone to print, it can't be changed.

The free character preview

On our homepage you can see your child drawn as a storybook character before you buy. It's free: two a day without an account, three with one. The preview shows the style; the illustrations in your finished book are made for your book and won't be identical to it. We may limit or pause previews at any time. How we handle the photo is in our Privacy Policy.

Prices and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT where it applies. Payment is taken securely by Stripe at checkout; we never see your full card details. Your order is confirmed when payment goes through. Discount codes can be entered at checkout, one per order, and can't be exchanged for cash. Discounts don't stack: while a book in your order is on sale, no code can be used on that order — codes you hold stay valid for another one.

Delivery

Printed books are made to order and posted by our print partner, Gelato. Delivery within the UK is free; elsewhere there is one flat delivery charge per order, however many books, shown in your cart before you pay. We post worldwide; the charge for your country shows on every book and in your cart. Delivery times depend on the destination and aren't guaranteed; if a book hasn't arrived when you expected it, write to us and we'll chase it. PDF books are emailed to the address you ordered with.

Cancellations, returns and refunds

Because every book is made for one person, personalised books aren't covered by the usual 14-day right to cancel. You can cancel an order free of charge until we start making it — write to us straight away. If a book arrives damaged or faulty, or isn't what you ordered, tell us within 14 days of delivery (a photo helps) and we'll reprint it or refund you. A PDF can't be returned once it has been delivered, but if there's a mistake in it that's ours, we'll fix it. The details, in plain words, are on our Returns & refunds page.

The Hive (our book club)

• You're billed at the start of each period — monthly or yearly, as you chose — until you cancel.
• You can cancel any time from your account (My account → Manage subscription). Cancelling stops the next renewal; the period you've paid for runs to its end.
• Books already being made or posted can't be refunded, as each is personalised.
• If we change the price, we'll email you before it applies, and you can cancel before then.

The Honeycomb

• Every printed book you buy on cozybeestudio.com fills one cell of your Honeycomb — one per copy. When all seven cells are full, we email you a single-use code worth £47.90 off — enough for any one printed book, including our largest hardcover — and a new comb starts.
• Your Honeycomb follows the email address you order with. Sign in with the same address to see it on My account.
• PDF books, Hive book-club books, and the book you get with a Honeycomb code don't fill cells. Orders on other shops (such as Etsy) aren't included. A cancelled or refunded order takes its cells back.
• The code is valid for 12 months, can be used once on an order of £20 or more (any amount above £47.90 is paid as usual), can't be combined with another code or used on an order with a book on sale, and can't be exchanged for cash.
• We may change or end the Honeycomb with notice on this page; codes already sent will still work until they expire.

The code on the back of your book

The QR code on the back of our printed books gives 15% off one order on cozybeestudio.com. It can be used once per order and not together with another code (such as a Honeycomb or welcome code), and can't be exchanged for cash. We may change or end it at any time; the QR will always lead to our current offer.

Who owns what

The story text, illustrations and designs are ours. You may keep, read, print (for PDFs) and give the finished book for personal use, but not resell or publish it. Your photos and your story stay yours; you let us use them only to make your order.

Liability

We make every book with care and skill. We aren't responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law says it can't be limited.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
